So personally, I like reserve, I enjoy the way it plays, and I personally don't have many complaints about how people play it… But, its become increasingly hard to find like minded folks. So here was an idea I had that i think could balance out the map, and make players start to come back to the map.
What if BSG flipped the operational extract mechanics? Power switch opens Heremetic, and the alarm Opens D2 for a limited period of time. The players who hit D2 will be required to go above ground, and inform the entire lobby where they are headed. Its still going to fast, but it increases the risk quite a lot. And for those who hit the power switch, their guaranteed extract is further away, and requires more movement above ground.
The biggest complaints I hear about reserve are that people sprint to D2, kill raiders and fight by power switch, and then leave, and I think this solution dilutes that issue, and would force the bunker players into a more explorative route around the map. And it seems to me to be a relatively easy fix for BSG to implement. And folks can still use RR extract and train as they please, because neither of those contribute to the prior complaint nearly as much as D2. The other solution i see is that extract camping would be a lot less easy, with less people going D2. And camping heremetic at least requires more risk of fighting AI and blowing your cover.
