I come home from an initial foray into Mistlands.
Opening the front doors, two young chickens burst out, zipping away :peep:… :peep:. Absolutely no way to corral or push them.
So I run in to grab some seeds… none… okay there's barley. I get back outside and head toward peeping… of course one's headed right into a pack of fulings and a deathsquito. So I body-block and take the aggro, drawing things away before killing so I don't hit the chicken. Oh great, in the rain I sailed in on, a family of necks are up on the hill… where one of the idiot peeps now went.
Just get up there to intercept the necks… Skeleton Surprise. Ridiculous. I try to draw their attention but none are coming at me. Instead… a horde of skeletons chasing a damn chicken right into lox and more deathsquitos.
Stupid peeps. They ensured their own demise and I won't be hatching anymore… I'm playing with no portals and the Trader is more than a 1-hour round trip away with nothing else I want from him.
I really dislike the insane fixation on livestock which mobs have. I normally never bother with raising animals, but chickens are plentiful endgame (so far) food which require "farming". No chickens means missing out on food variety/options. Not essential, but irritating, and a little more boring without.
