Since the day secure containers were added years ago, their purpose was to hold valuable loot, so you can get something out of a raid (with ~65% chance of you dying), and not go bankrupt, and not be pressured to run naked with cheap gear like a pistol/mosin/hunter.
Now, especially with the recent patch, this core feature of the container that absolutely everyone used is nerfed, and it amazes me that people defend this as if it was intended all along. Just hours after patch I see unironical posts and comments like "oh, you put FAST/NVGs/thermals in your pouch? That's cheating", "no scope should fit into pouch", "add cooldowns to secure containers" and so on.
Just why? It doesn't help anyone. In most cases, the guy you're shooting at has no time to save his NVG/thermal. Now you can't secure your own trophies either, and everyone loses but scavs.
