another mistlands post

just a quick rant, i know we've seen it all/tired of it all
please dont come comment with the cooked takes of "you paid 20 for it you got what you paid for""steam wont allow them to give a release date" or any of the other repeated cop outs to peoples valid complaints.
yes im aware there are other games to play
yes im aware the game is in early release
yes im aware ive played hours of the game
yes im aware there are mods i could use

my issue now is that we are in november.
iron gate has already stated that they plan to take yet ANOTHER break in mid december.
so if the mistlands isn't out by december 15th, we aren't getting it. and of course, the dev team refuses to communicate with the community about this whatsoever.
like its been said a million times, the amount of time its taking for the update wouldnt be AS big of a deal, if the devs would just simply communicate. but they have no respect for us. they tell us "itll be out when its out" and theres no communication within the team either because they say they outsourced crossplay but then a dev slips up and says that theyre the ones working on cross play so what is the truth?
this is a problem because its like a big Fuck You to the community because it shows they care more about getting more money than ever updating the game

on top of all of this,
they really think that teasing and spoiling every single detail would get us to stop complaining, instead of, again, just communicating with us. clearly. i'm upset with the spoilers. i get that i shouldnt follow their twitter or come to reddit because ill see spoilers, but damn dude i didnt realize that they were going to release a new teaser every single week. theyre leaving absolutely nothing up to the imagination or for surprise. the only thing they havent teased in the boss. surely there will be a few things here or there that they havent teased, but like the Yssdril [cant spell dont care sorry] that would have been DOPE to discover on our own. but no.
like is anyone else upset about how much spoilers theyre releasing? sometimes i want to just come in and check to see if there are any progress updates, or [wishful thinking] ANY communication from the devs, but instead all i see is basically everything theyve added to the biome. so not only do they refuse to communicate, but theyre also sucking the fun out of discovering the mistlands.

really, why steal the experience from us just because youd rather tease everything instead of just saying SOMETHING, ANYTHING

its like they think if they spoil every aspect of the update, they wont have to communicate with us. like we'll be satisfied w the experience being stolen from us. is it really too much to ask for a "we're finishing up" "adding the last few touches" or "we're still a long ways away"
i mean, SOMETHING, literally ANYTHINGGGGG besides the dismissive "it'll be done when its done"

& i would like to remind everyone,
that the original roadmap was released with the idea that all of those content updates were MORE than achieveable in that time frame, with the original small dev team.
and they were confident that they could get all of that done in ONE YEAR.
so why is everyone sucking off the devs claiming that making a game takes time and yadda yadda yadda bug fixes ksjhdlksjhd whatever you want to say. it doesnt take away from the fact that they CONFIDENTLY thought they could get multiple biomes, multiple gameplay etc updates within one year, including the ocean, and then even more updates "if Odin wills it"
all within 2021. why the sudden change?

here we are two years later, with a bigger dev team, and they still cant pump out content
at this point it isnt even about the content, its about the communication
they close posts, they ban people from the server, they block people from commenting, instead of just speaking up and saying literally anything.

i love valheim. but im starting to regret giving them my time and money due to the sheer disrespect from the dev team. it seems that the only one that cares is Grimmcore. he's the only one who even remotely communicates with the community.
iron gate doesnt give a shit about us. and based on their attitude toward us, i'm willing to bet that the mistlands will be so sloppily vacant and only be 2-4 hours worth of gameplay, considering most people have maxxed out their weapons and ammo and have reached end-game of the current content, so i cant imagine it will be too difficult to get through the entire biome in a few hours of nonstop play.

OR, you know, in a perfect world, maybe this is all intentional and the mistlands update will actually be huge and have many many many things we werent expecting. but i doubt it.
theyve only been working on the mistlands since August.
but muh bug fixes and muh lox pies taked a year and a half to finish youre being so insensitive!

or at least SOME type of communication from the devs before their break,
i'm uninstalling and ill never touch valheim again [yes i know no one cares, im just saying]

and i mean real communication, not another cop out "its done when its done"
