The game has a lot of guns, however, it seems there are only a few guns people actually use and you run into constantly, especially on high end where everything is either an M4, VSS or some sniper rifle.
High end Assault Rifles are especially suspect at the moment.
From the list of the confirmed upcoming weapons from Tarkov wiki,
the game really could use a couple of high end guns currently:
AN 94 and AEK-971; both these guns use an advanced gas system that dramatically reduces recoil. Both these guns would be high end 5.45 guns which are lacking currently.
AK-15; latest and high end 7.62×39 assault rifle. Would give more spice to 7.62×39 round and get it used more.
Bushmaster ACR, FN SCAR L, HK G36; All of these use the 5.56×45 NATO, and while they probably wouldn't take the over-represented M4 off the throne due to the ridiculous amount of modding options for that gun, they would definitely diversify the 5.56 use which is almost always the M4 at the moment.
OTS-14 Groza; Currently the 9×39 is used exclusively by the VSS and AS VAL, which are essentially the same gun. Groza would add a new, non silenced, high rate of fire weapon that would shred armor and diversify the 9×39 slot.
Belt fed machine guns; these were teased recently, specifically the RPD. These are most likely to be added in the next patch and will be a great addition, however I would love it if some of the above guns are added as well sooner rather than later as they would really add a lot of diversity to the high ends guns which is currently lacking.
