I do love the balance changes the Gwent devs make with the game, and some of the inventive cards that get built, however, i'm finding my favourite homebrew decks are just getting harder to make without aiming for a specific archetype. I know a lot of people love the archetypes, but i really don't like them, as it just leads to more and more similarity between builds. I don't look at what is Meta etc and just enjoy getting to my sweet spot around rank 7-8 with homebrew decks.
For example, with SK, they messed up Reckless Flurry, and now Onslaught. Both of these are now super niche and limited. I liked the slow pings in their former versions. Sure they are powerful now – IF you build a deck that fits their niche (especially now Onslaught). I don't understand why they can't just make new leader abilities and don't change existing ones that were balanced, like Onslaught was.
Also with card powers, it's the same thing. I used to run loads of pirates and ships in my mixed deck, whereas now they are all becoming so niche to requiring a full deck of pirates to utilise card powers.
SK is definitely getting hit the worst with this division of archetypes. ST i find i can blend a bit more without feeling restricted.
