Crazy out of this world thinking for update 14, we can be 80% correct in thinking U14 will add on foot anti-xeno combat but what if it's not just limited to planet surfaces, but also station interiors.
The thargoids can board the stations and you would have to defend the civilians while they try to escape, this could add incredible gameplay and opportunities for non-combat related gameplay, for example, a wing group or NPCs tries to stop the thargoids from reaching the reactor room or civilian living areas, but since the station will be damaged, you'll need to cut open doors and air vents to reach these areas.
This does sound like wishful thinking but I think anti-xeno station interior combat would make since since the thargoids have always targeted stations in the past and with the current systems under incursion, the thargoids are ignoring stations.
