I'm going to get a lot of flack for this…but it is what it is…
First? My reasoning: I've always wanted to play from Thargoid support perspective, but the lack of community for this leads to a lack of mechanics for this. The recent (mindless) ganking which I've been coming across kind of got me thinking, how we do need a ganking side, but focused one A. To be effective B. For narrative purpose. The community's actions dictate the narrative. FDev does not ignore these. There will always be rudderless gankers, however. Griefers. As mentioned, the only oppositions I'm seeing in the AX zones right now are the one-off griefers with no agenda. The sort that will even spend time with you in an AX conflict zone, help take out interceptors, then just start targeting and disabling your FSD and modules out of nowhere, so that you can't avoid the situation and finally blow you up, then proceed back to taking out Thargoid. Mainly because they think it's funny.
I'm not saying, "let's go sit and camp surroundings starting systems and grief new players…" or like they do in Elder Scrolls Online and quest block vampire players trying to run a simple quest… I'm talking about actual role-play. I have not seen any groups for this, in recent times. There were a couple people I came across and which blew me up during the Salvation CGs that used Fargods or Thargoid support as a reason, so if these people are still out there, where are they? Where's the Discord?
Bottom line? Someone needs to create a Fargod allied player group, or similar. This will send a message to FDev for those of us that would prefer to remain friendly to Thargoids . It would make the Thargoid war very interesting because then AXI would have to have a larger amount of completely dedicated PVP builds, aimed at skirting the conflict zones for these sorts, which I used to even do, but got bored doing, as about 80% of the time nothing comes of it and so you're just sitting there.
Other (anecdotal) information
A long-long time ago (about 5 years ago) in a galaxy very close (actually, we're in it), on the Xbox, I used to follow interceptors around and feed them alloys and throw repair limpets on them, as a gesture, but the mechanics stops short at those very gestures. xeno supporters could farm alloys and feed it to them, to help support their side. I am to the belief that FDev have put Oresrian and Klaxon xeno factions into the game. I believe the friendlier ones (Oresrians) are the ones that do not attack on sight, which means many may have always been killing the wrong ones from the start…because, well? It's easier and you can get the jump on them. I am also of the opinion that Guardians were bad people. So war mongering that the Thargoid were probably pale in comparison, in terms of provocation/ instigating conflicts. The Guardians, antsy to flex their might probably waged (mindless) war on them, shooting themselves in the foot along the way, but that is another discussion.
Builds/ tactics/ gameplay/ community
Anyway, it would be tough because xeno supporters will still have to carry caustic sink launchers, for the stray missiles/ clouds and they'd still need fast, cold builds, to potentially outrun interceptors and what not, but it would still be fun and unlocking caustic launchers does not hurt the xeno's…only their generators, if you are not careful. Interceptor contact in the maelstroms can be avoided, easily.
Overall this would include the community more. Right now there are people that don't give a crap about AX mechanics and this could pull many of them in, as it would have a meta alloy and occupied escape pod hauling mechanic and limpet stealth support builds (so the Thargoid don't see you sneaking up on them with repair limpets etc.) Some could also protect the Thargoid sites, for role-play purposes.
I could imagine anti-AX builds as consisting of at least one corrosive shell weapon, PAs, and super pens. It's time we start playing this from an "interesting" perspective. Right now? It's too linear and getting stale.
