This is my fiance and my fourth playthrough of this game, we both have around 500 hours each, 99% played together. We stopped playing for a bit after we played through hearth and home, waiting for mistlands to drop. We were super stoked when it did and finally got around to starting our new run about a month ago. We were both avoiding spoilers as much as possible.
Let me say that the mistlands is by far the best, most interesting biome so far. The way that the build pieces integrate with the biome, the new ways to battle, to travel, the new dungeons and sometimes friendly NPCs, the incredible sense of foreboding but also precarious safety, to just the breathtaking beauty, and we haven't even figured out how to upgrade past level two crafting yet. Also we, uh, accidentally? unexpectedly? found the boss, which was both terrifying and delightful.
I just don't think the devs get enough outright praise heaped on them for something as obviously incredibly thoughtful and detailed as this new biome. As many people have echoed here, this is by far the best $20 I have ever spent.
Thank you, and if the Ashlands and Helmir quests are anything like the mistlands, we are all in for a huge treat.
So excited for what's coming!
