With 7.31 release I have a strong feeling overall amount of work done on Dota 2 has drastically decreased with years.
That might be wrong, but I really feel like patches could introduce more major changes. Map changes, more hero reworks, free remodels, made the game something new. Things like Techies rework looks fun at first and I understand many people hated him, but it feels like a generic brawler hero now.
New hero is cool, but isn't that just literally a reuse of assets from Aghanim's Labyrinth? And based on Primal Beasts skill demonstration videos this hero has been pretty much done for a crazy amount of time now. I remember Valve talking about creating more heroes for Dota, I remember the leaks about them creating fun ranked rewards like in other popular games and much much more, but Dota feels like it's real far away from Valve's sight and it's no longer that's something is going to happen to Dota.
Maybe I'm just getting too used to patches after all these years, but I'm still convinced this patch hardly compares to the ones we used to get years before.
While this is probably going to look like a generic "patch bad" complaint (in fact, it is, but not just that), honestly I'm just curious what people think. Do people agree? Or is it just me or my friends? Had big hopes for this patch, but it feels… Meh?
