Cannot Plot Route With NEw Kraith MKII

So I recently bought a Kraith MKII. Upgraded from mu Vulture. I was in the Kigana system when I bought it. So I was experimenting with it–taking on simple combat missions,etc. I had no issue flying to systems–some of which took 11 jumps. So I decided to visit the "Blaster engineer to engineer my weapons only to find out I cannot plot the route to get there. So I switched to my Vulture and it took 15 jumps but I got to a nearby system(within 25ly) of where I needed to be, went to a starport and transferred my Kraith to that–thinking I would just jump from the close system to the engineer's system–nope. Same problem. So I tried to make the route manually–still won't work. Checked all my modules–fsd, etc to make sure they were active and they are. I do not have any inventory. As far as I remember I did not make any changes to the Kraith from the time I was flying around Kigana until trying to get to the engineer. Looking for some help here. This is really frustrating and I'm kinda out of ideas.
