What the title says, there should be a new meta every so often so that every game doesn't play the same. Ever since the mythic weapons and the bows a few years back, the 'meta' seems to have mainly been those items and heroes related to them since. With the amount of heroes and weapons we have, it sucks that only maybe 25% of them are viable at all. Some heroes are literally useless like most phase shift damage heroes and energy reduction heroes. While yes, they technically can be used, they are either niche or are power creeped by way better heroes. Same thing with weapons, they got power creeped to oblivion. Not every weapon and hero should be strong, but at least be viable and 'fun'.
Take the most recent item to have a game changing effect, the Plasmatic Discharger. While it did get slightly reworked due to it being bugged, it was honestly the most 'fun' and still strong item added in a good long while that is still being used as much as the Xenon Bow.
My controversial take is that there should be more balance changes that can change up the meta every so often. Whether it be nerfs, buffs, or straight up reworks like they did with Extraterrestrial Rio a while back. I know that many people who use Stoneheart Farrah and the Xenon Bow/Vacuum Tube Bow might see this as a horrible idea (since its the most overused build in the game, but it's the strongest), but the meta has been about the same for a very long time, even with the inclusion of the Plasmatic Discharger. Even one season of StW that doesn't rely on the most overused builds can be refreshing, but if no changes are made to existing heroes and weapons, then we are to deal with the same idea to tackle every obstacle.
