Hi
I admit that I am not mentality the strongest person when it comes to competitive gaming, wins and losses easily get under my skin. I am very ambitious, and I don't take losses lightly. I often have certain expectations of myself and when I feel that I am not meeting them it influences the way I play and it just makes it even harder to reach my goal.
Right now, in Gwent I am going through a weird phase. I keep making the wrong decisions and forgetting something or other dumb mistakes.
Examples:
Against syndicate I banished with Squirrel a Cleric of a Flaming Rose in round 1 with Tourney Joust. My opponent passed I needed 5 points to get ahead, I used an Illusionist knowing it's exactly 5 points. But oh wait, it only played for four because I forgot I banished it had to use a leader charge.
Another game I won round 1 against Syndicate but had to go down a card. In round 2 I started bleeding completely forgetting that I actually had to go down a card. Yikes.
Or against Syndicate I forgot that they play Professor and I played Viggo for 4 points and didn't click Truffle yet because I still had one Assimilate engine in hand. But I lost ways more points that way because of all other assimilate procs from Bribery and Coup.
Or even worse, I lost a game close because I mulliganed one bronze and Rune Mage thinking I would guaranteed draw Bribery but I totally forgot that Yenwo is 9 provisions (I played Calveit in round 2.). Yenwo ended up only playing for 6 because It was a 3 card ro3 in a mirror.
It's not that I don't take my times to think thigs through, I do, in fact I roped a lot of times. I roped, and it auto-put it on the back row "An Craite Long Ship" on the back row that I got from a runestone. And it happens all the time.
It started happening after I had got to 2496 as NG and my goal is at least 2500 on all factions (2/4 complete.) and I only needed one more win it was Syndicate and I thought free win because I always won vs SY. To my surprise I lost and after that I had a lose streak and only ever won two games out of approx 15 again vs Syndicate, which tilted me even more because the matchup should be in my favor as NG.
Just looking for some constructive tips how to get back on track 🙂
