Logged in this morning, excited for day of gaming. A couple hours in the game crashes, I log back in and as many others have discovered it says "Day 1". I had no idea this bug was even a thing as I don't frequent reddit often, but now I see several great guides the community has put together about how to prepare for this, but it looks like since I didn't prepare in advance, I'm absolutely screwed.
508 hours, all gone. I don't even know what to think right now, it's surreal.
I could sit here and rage but I have sympathy for you as a dev. I've worked in game development for a long time, I understand crash bugs happen and some can take time to fix and release especially when you factor in deep regression testing, but getting the word out to your players so they can be aware of the situation would be appreciated. It's also odd to me the post isn't even pinned in this subreddit, and that it was put together by the players, not the developer.
The most recent new items in steam are "Hungry for a snack?" and "Happy Midsummer!". Please consider something posting something about issue so that every player can take precautions until a proper fix can be released.
I'm too distracted to continue reading through the guides on restoration right now but it looks like its gone forever. If there is anything I can do to retrieve my world or if anyone has any tips I would welcome them.
