I used to play a lot of Carry / Midlane with my friends, since they're mostly lower rated than I am, and we've always though "highest rated should have most impactful role". I'm ~4.000 ELO, my mates are 2.500-3.000.
I really like playing Hard Support when I soloqueue. I also know that a lot of others appreciate that I queue as hard support, since we generally lack people who fill the role.. However, when my I find that my Carry / Midlane are significantly lower than me, and the rest of the team, I can't help but feeling we are at a significant disadvantage.
If my midlane is much lower than the opposing midlane, the opposition can snowball.
If my hardcarry is much lower than I am, I find that 9/10 times he will end up farming way more than he is supposed to. This would be fine, if he had the knowledge to utilize said freefarm, but as mentioned earlier — in this example he is the lowest rated player on the team.
What do you guys think? I've heard the arguement "You can make as much impact as a good hard support, as you can a carry", and I actually agree with that.. But I also find that you can make significantly more damage as a bad carry, than you can a bad support.
TL;DR: I love playing pos5, but not when I'm much higher rated than my cores. I would happily queue for +10 minutes, if I could get some sort of guarantee that my teammate cores wouldn't be the two lowest rated players in my games. Am I alone in having this thought?
