Don’t Skip the Fenris Armor

Walheim: how to make delicious mead and what it is for

I skipped the Fenris armor since I was past it armor-wise with other sets. It's well worth the frost cave searching. +9 speed vs -10 speed of heavy armor feels like flying on the ground. Add the feather cape in and it crushes most tasks other than heavy combat. If you do find yourself in a rough spot, you can usually run away from it with the speed. Filling out uncharted map areas is great, running portal blocked materials is great, base management is great. Highly recommend Fenris Armor to anyone who has skipped it. In addition to all that, Fire resistance along with the frost resistance late game capes provide. I'm wearing it more often than I'm not.

—————edit—————-

People are saying they weren't getting much Fenris hair from the caves. I recommend bringing a demolisher or whatever your best sledge hammer is. Whenever you see black curtains, swing the sledge and Fenris hair will usually fall out. I was averaging just under 30 hair per cave. It took me six caves total to max out a set. Out of the six caves I got 3 cultist trophies, they may have upped the drop rate on those in an update. The sledge also helps find the ice walls that break allowing you to explore more of the cave.

Finding the caves was the most difficult part. When the weather turns to a blizzard you pretty much have to stumble on one. As soon as I had enough Fenris hair to make the level one set, I used that to search the mountains. You can outrun the wolves/drakes, only having to fight near the caves to make sure they aren't waiting for you on the way out or busting your portals.

Also bring fire resist potion or Yagluth power or both. I don't know what it's like trying to recover a body from Cultists and I don't want to know.
