Dota 2 crashing between intro scene and lobby.

Hello,

My dota is crashing between intro scene and the lobby right after I perform my first click after starting the game. This problem started after the big update (2GB+, 2 days ago).
We first played a regular game and it was fine, moved on to play a CS:GO game before moving back to dota where I had to download the new big update. Right after the update finished I tried starting the game but my screen froze. Ever since then I've tried multiple solution suggestions… but alas. It keeps freezing.
The things I have tried:
1) Verifying game files
2) Restarting comp
3) Reinstalling game
4) Drivers updated
5) Game run as administrator
6) Antivirus disabled
7) Dota run in compatibility mode
8) Dota run in window mode with -high -window as launching option. Also tried -autoconfig and -safe
9) Adjusted virtual memory accordin to this link
10) Maybe something else, I tried according to the top 3 videos on youtube to no avail.

Has anyone had the same problem and/or know a working solution?
