Hi!
I'm in the process of preparing my 1st trip out of the bubble and would like to visit Sagittarius A*. On the way there, I would like to discover some new systems, of course.
The only tool I'm using so far is Inara along with EDMC. This doesn't seem to be of help when planning routes though. I also know Spansh and EDSM . Recently I've heard of E:D Discovery, which looks like an amazing tool. But I'm wondering, whether using those tools is at all helpful, when wanting to discover NEW systems? I would assume that those tools only know about already discovered systems? So using those tools, it's guaranteed to NOT discover any new systems. Is this correct? (I'm not quite sure how they get their data, but I assume they only know of things that other cmdrs report back)
So that would leave me with the in-game Galaxy map. How are other explorers approach this? Maybe have a high-level plan with certain way points based on the tools above, and navigating between those way points only with the in-game Galaxy map?
And what tool are you using to find interesting waypoints? I was trying out EDSM, but all I seem to be able to enter is the start and end system (along with max jump range), and that's it. I get a list of waypoints, but I don't see a way to configure anything. Like.. how could I say to include Colonia on its way? And what tools are you using to determine interesting waypoints? Or maybe stations on the way to cash in exploration data?
Sorry for that many questions! 🙂
