Finally beat Moder!

I thought I was ready before, and there's a previous post here somewhere detailing my foolishness.

It's taken another 60+ in game days to rebuild bronze gear, in order to get iron, so I could mine silver, so I could reclaim some of my stuff.

The solo fight took a full day. the night, the next day, and most of the following night. Luckily I only had 1 wolf and maybe 3 drakes turn up during the fight. I'd started by clearing out a golem, thinking Moder was still over the otherside of the mountain, but she turned up almost immediately after I'd finished dealing with the stony boi.

I was actually lucky she'd come back to the altar area, I had two columns I'd raised in a flatish area, and they were invaluable through the fight. Think I used 1.5 axes, 2.5 bows, 75 poison arrows and 150-200 needle arrows. (She kept settling half hidden behind the contours, and shots to the wings didn't seem to count as a hit. Also used a fair amount of food and 7 medium healing potions.

I melee'd her when I could, and took as many bow shots as possible when she settled in the distance. I dropped to 50 or 60 health quite a few times, and each time had to just dance around the columns keeping clear until I'd rebuilt a decent buffer.

There was a time when she was at about 75% health when nothing seemed to touch her for ages, I couldn't make any headway. I did manage to stay calm this time round, and manage my health and stamina properly rather than just smashing buttons. Also helped getting the hang of her ice and frost blast attacks and avoiding most of those.

Right, time to get some of that black metal scrap back to base and start making stuff. I've been killing fulings for a while, so there is a stache ready for use.

Also just realised that I'm going to need some flax soon – atgeir, axe etc, and I think that means I need to raid a fuling village… aww crap!

Anyway, great fight, the first one I've really had to work hard for. Loved it.
