It's funny to say, but for the first time in a long time, I'm excited to see where this goes.
I really really like seeing the callbacks to things like Dredgers which were fairly major in the older Elite titles because it makes me feel like Fdev is aware of the legacy they're building on, even if the technical aspects of the game are still on the OR table.
With the 1st Federal Civil War about to break out and topics like Salvation browning on the backburner, this could only end poorly and that's part of what I'm looking forward to. What do you guys think? Is Archon Delaine going to be the one who discovers/buys a prototype Guardian superweapon that they were developing to fight the Thargoids? It'd be a perfect way for him to leverage his new position of power against the Empire and the Fed and try to get more official recognition as a Pirate King. Or maybe the Dredgers found an old cache of data and it's only a matter of time until we understand just who or what Salvation is.
