HoTS Stream Thinking of Switching MOBAS

So I am a longtime heroes of the storm player (7 years) and I am breaking into the streaming scene, and unfortunately heroes doesnt really get a whole lot of attention these days. SO! I am considering a new MOBA to break into and I was wondering if there are any former HoTS players in here that can give me advice on if the switch to DOTA2 was worth it, similar champions to hots heroes, and generally get a feel for the DOTA community. I am a multiple grandmaster/master player on hots (doesnt really mean much apparently its equivilent to like platinum in DOTA2 im told lol) if you were to pick up DOTA today what champs would u pick up?
