I have given the new system more than a fair chance. I have played over 200 hours this wipe (which is a lot for me) to try to get used to it so that I can continue to play the game, but and I cannot stand it. It is not fun me to play when I do not feel like I am in control of my character.
One argument that I have heard is that it increases immersion. However, in Tarkov, even MINIMAL gear you move like a boat on ice.
Another argument for the new system is that it slows the game down, and makes it so that people can't dunk on other players by ADADing. My two cents is that if you can't hit your shots, you don't deserve any kills.
Maybe it's just because I come from other shooters, but in every game that I have played except Tarkov, when you press a button, your character does what you ask. Tarkov on the other hand, makes it feel like I am telling a friend what I want him to press, then he presses it which gives my inputs about 100ms of delay.
To everyone who is about to say "this isn't cod, go back to cod," I made this post because I want to share my opinion on a mechanic which has made one of my favorite games a lot less fun for me to play.
I don't want to just offer criticism without suggesting possible solutions, so here is my idea:
Maybe a stamina system could be implemented the way CS:GO stops people from crouch spamming. The basic idea is that the first time you do an action it is full speed, but, every consecutive time you do that action it is slowed down. This has minimal impact on normal gameplay, but absolutely effects you if you try to abuse the action.
The new system encourages camping. In my opinion it has made the game feel much less satisfying and fun to play.
