I feel bad for doing a little cheating in survival

Me and my friend were going dungeon delving in sunken crypts for Iron. We clear all the crypts on one side of the swamp, the side our outpost is on, and sail to one across a very wide river, too wide to feasibly swim. When we reached the other side we fight of some skeletons and draugers and then got overwhelmed by more draugers and an oozer, which we've never fought before. While trying to retreat on our longship the oozer got aboard and killed us. We built two long ship so we ate, got rested, teleported back in, and tried to get out stuff back. My friend died in the water and was killed again trying to get his gear. My loot was on the longship, and was poisoned again, and died shortly after. At this point we had a few options: get out karve and set out immediate to try the same strat, do that but maybe with some lower rated gear, or cheat a little. I chose to cheat because I didn't want to spend hours trying to get our stuff and sail the ships back in two trips, and probably die to that fucking oozer again, and have to build even more ships. So I turned on debugmode, flew over, killed the enemies and grabbed my stuff. Once back in survival I waited on the other side of the river with one of the longships for my friend to run back. While waiting I was attacked by two wraiths and died again. 😐. This time I was determined to ensure this never happened again, I entered debug mode and I built a portal on the other side surrounded by walls and spikes, and promptly killed every monster in the vicinity, spamming the K key like I was Odin smiting some petuant mortal. Afterwards I and my friend continued mining Iron without incident.

We have spent 70 hours on this world, all in survival without issue. Even during similarly tough or frustrating periods we never considered cheating. I just feel kinda bad for cheating and that I ruined my fun by doing what I did. I even threw away an equal amount of materials for the walled in portal I built. Has anyone else had a similar experiences with using console commands? What are your view in using commands in survival? Or maybe just provide me with some words of comfort🥲?
