I just can’t…

Hi all,

First of all, thank you if you read this, I guess it will be a long text and a lot of what I'll say would probably be said already.

Now I knew what were the risks to buy a game in early access and with a setup like mine. For the curious ones, I have an i5-8400, GTX 1060 and 16Gb RAM. I did watched some gameplay test on the same setup as mine to have a look at the performances, but I didn't look far because I didn't want to spoil myself about the mechanics and stuff. This is not an angry review, more kind of a sad review.

First of all, I wanted this game because it was sold as a realist game. Sometimes I was satisfied, for example with the sounds of the footsteps, the gun shots, the search and examine system… and sometimes I was disappointed, like the healing system that I hoped to be more like Metal Gear Solid 3 or Project Zomboid. But no matters what I did like or not, in the overall it was satisfying.

Now why did I said that "I just can't"? Well, I just can't go on with the game, for one reason and that's obvious so far : optimization.
The game is badly optimized and I'm not saying that this is the fault of the devs, I should wait to get a better computer too before taking it. I was okay about the fact of getting small frame drops like I saw in the videos, I played in very low with downsampling the resolution to 0.5. Everything was fine and great, I was raging because I was dying from a unknown shot, I was happy because I killed a dude I saw in a building… But then, I picked a 4x scope.

Oh my god I shouldn't… I died because my frames drop to 25fps when I tried to scope a guy with it, and I was like "wait what?" before I die, simply because the animation of aiming was also slowed down. This is why I can't play this game anymore. Why did they add the Picture in Picture for the scopes? Why didn't they even add an option to configure the resolution of Picture in Picture or to disable it?

I'm so sad that I can't fully enjoy the game because of this. I hesitate to play in 30fps but the response time is already slow in 60fps, I'm scared about the response time in 30fps.

Please devs, I know you already did a lot about Picture in Picture when I read the topics, but please let us configure the picture in picture on our side or the possibility to disable it.

If someone has a solution either, I'm open to try it.

For now, I'll just stop playing the game until I have a better computer. Time to go back on PUBG and Arma I guess…
