… why does it feel like the game is suddenly much harder? I left about 6 months ago, just kind of waiting to see what was going to change. Heard some big changes had come out, so I decided I would give it a try again. Started a new character and loaded in.
The combat has become so much more difficult and brutal. Enemies are spawning more often and at higher star ratings. I couldn't even complete dungeons, which I used to be able to smash even in early game, because there were so many ghosts in the burial chambers that just weren't dying at my club level. And I couldn't find a single troll that was under 1 star, despite basic armor and tier one bows. And while I used to be able to parry any attack and take no damage, suddenly trolls were practically one-shotting me through parrying, making parrying worthless!
What happened? Why is everything so much ridiculously harder? Why can't I at least set a difficulty level? I don't want to dedicate dozens of hours to fighting, I am mostly here for the exploring and base building elements. This isn't even close to what I left, and frankly the difficulty is discouraging because I remember how hard the plains were for me before. If I wanted a game as difficult as dark souls, I'd be playing dark souls. I just want to play a fun, stable, base building game with friends, not dark souls with bases
