I played ventures for 2 years. Here is my opinion about it.

Yes, another post, another opinion. Introduction is boring.

And remember this keyword: Opinion

The Good

  • You cannot drop anything to anyone

This is perhaps the best thing about ventures. An actual counter to the trading and scamming community and all of it's ways. Simply getting rid of it in this mode.

  • Introduction of superchargers and core re-perk

Adding more fuel into your already maxed firepower can increase my variety to an extent it became endless testing weapons and heroes for me as well as changing the 6th perks of these weapons to add more into my testing. And this what keeps STW unique as well.

  • Replaying the game

While it's not something like "New game plus" feature in any other game. But it's at least fulfilling a bit of that part. I did miss the first few days of playing STW when I liked it's PvE aspect (Skill tree anyone?). But with my maxed heroes instead. And I don't mind farming my materials again.

The Bad

  • Long grind

While the mode is nice and all. I don't understand how people complete this in like three days without getting bored from it. But I don't know about the other people. The grind is just too long to grind each level But that's just my opinion about it.

  • Heavily reliant on RNG

A lot of quests require RNG on your side to happen. Especially the flinger quest despite missions that have common spawns. They don't seem to appear.

Another thing to mention is the random weapon perking. Most of the time you get a nature elemental weapon…in a fire mutant storm season…with very few energy weapons and water weapons from there and there after a long while (Blasted Badlands currently).

Mission alerts as well. You have to complete a rescue the survivors in PL70? Well guess what, You gonna wait a week until one shows up!

  • Standalone stats means you are forced to rely on specific loadouts

Ability loadouts are fun and all, but how about a little variety? I run a lot of weapon based loadouts (Mainly ED-EE loadout) while I can't do that in ventures due to how RNG weapons are. Not to mention the standalone stats that makes you weaker making your weapon based loadout obsolete. But again, that's just my opinion.

The Ugly

  • Still bad public match players

I either get players with no idea how to play the game or people (in uncommon cases) who just spam traps all over the spawn. I mean, it's nice to have teammates building something useful right? /s Yeah tell that to the score system which wont grant you the mission alert rewards and forced to play in private again. That's on top of the common leechers we have.

  • Missing/needed QoL changes

There are some long requested features like adding PWO feature to it for the peeps who want to complete the long challenge in ventures. Or adding a way to change the perks of the weapons you get from vending machines.

  • Imbalanced husks

In normal missions they're easy to go through using your stuff. But here in ventures, they become way stronger. Especially if you are playing solo no matter how efficient you built your traps. And as I mentioned in another point, you don't have your survivor bonuses which means even more lower trap durability and damage. And that's fine for the seekers of the challenges. Again, that's my opinion.

That's everything. What, expecting a credit scene too?
