I really dont understand bush campers….

This wasnt even like right on an extract either. This one jsut straight up confused me.

My buddy and i are brand new. Trying to unlock jaeger. We got the note and spent an embarrasing amount of time running in circles before i finally pieced together where we are. We are just walking north to the vehicle extract. Nothing. Nada. Nobody around anywhere. No gunshots even. I go over a hill and start to walk through and open field and my buddy says he's checking some box right before the hill. So i just stop. Im looking around. Look back, look forward, look at my inventory, im just standing there. Then i look back to where my buddy was and after like 5 second i see a muzzle flash from a bush where i walked and im dead. Then 10 seconds later my buddy was dead.

I dont get it. He was there for like 20 seconds watching me in the middle of fucking nowhere. No sounds where heard at all. We arent sprinting and i have good EPs on so i fugured i would have heard him at least walk into the bush. God knows how long he was there. I wasnt even near the town before the extract yet. I was in the middle of fucking nowhere. Why? Why the hell do people do this? It's like actually insane that someone will just sit in a bush for 30 minutes.
