You know what it is.. Every 5th game, you're forced to queue for all roles, and about 80% of the time, you end up as position 5.
Disclaimer: I'm hovering between 4.000 and 4.500 MMR. I am primarily a mid/carry-player. I don't mind playing position 5 in a full squad on voicechat, but I despise playing Hard Support in a non-communicating group often mixed with English/Russian.
I think I am not alone in this. You have 1 maybe 2 roles that you're good at. Perhaps a bit better than your current rating, but you're significantly worse at your less-desired roles.
I enjoy playing Ranked Matchmaking, and I don't mind hovering between Position 1, 2 and 3 and even 4, and I find it troublesome that I find myself bored every 5th game I play.
However, I thoroughly despise playing position 5. Furthermore, I am quite bad at it. I'll just be honest. Not just because I find my strengths to be itemization, farming patterns, limit-testing against other cores, split pushing and pushing at the right timings.
In my example, I've played roughly 100 games over the last couple of weeks, and I simply lose interest extremely quickly in the game when I play heroes such as CM/Jakiro/SD/SS/WD with randoms. Am I a bad person for this? Perhaps, but I don't think that I am alone. I am playing something that I genuinely do not want to play, but I still want to climb the ladder, and Ranked Non-Role queue is quite a mess at this rating. Everyone wants Mid / Core / Pudge.
……. So, what's the conclusion?
I don't think you should lose 1 Role queue when you queue up for 3 different roles.
I also don't think it's a good idea to force non-support players to play Hard Support, because more often than not, it's more fun to play with a guy who is genuinely good and interested in what he/she does.
What do you think? Am I the bad guy for hating playing 20% of the demanded roles? Should I just buckle up and shut up?.. Because shutting up is unfortunately what happens when I play bored. I listen to music, I try to communicate at first, but when my core messes up, I lose interest and know that I cannot change the game much from stacking / smoking for a mediocre core-player (who is probably better than me at position 5).
Perhaps I'm ranting a little.. But I don't really have a quick answer to this, nor do I know how to handle these Position 5 requirements.
