My brother and I have put a significant amount of time into Valheim, over 60 hours so far, into our private 2-man world. We recently beat Bonemass after a very long time of building up materials and equipment, which was a Herculean effort on our part. Because our original spawnpoint was nearby a Mountain biome, in the interim we have painstakingly built and maintained a headquarters at the top of said mountain in spite of the cold and the utterly oppressive wolves. We are at the point where the next boss is a significant distance away from us. If you know what all of this entails then you know what kinds of equipment we have and how much work it takes to get.
But, if you look at the map, we have covered maybe a tenth of it. We have so much left unexplored, it's comical. We haven't even met the merchant NPC yet that we know exists but don't know how to acquire.
We got into a serious discussion last night about our playthrough so far, and we've come to the conclusion that while we've had a lot of fun up to this point we are also beginning to feel some fatigue with our progress in the game. My brother feels that it might not be worth it to see the rest of the gigantic map since we have seen most of the biomes and done so much already. I feel that it would be worth it since we seem to always find something new whenever we venture further out, but I understand where he's coming from. Plus, the game is technically still in early access.
My question is: is there a lot more to the game that we haven't seen yet? Or is what we've done basically the bulk of it? I know this is a weird question and I'm not trying to be negative, because I love this game, but essentially I am hoping that someone will tell me what I want to hear, that it's worth it to keep on keeping on.
