Just came back from a 2 year break and i remember why i quit

Dota2 Mods

Im gonna keep playing because i love dota, doing my placements now thank god they'll be over soon..

My first 2 games were against crusaders and wow.. just wow.. I had a realization though while i was playing those games.

These players arent just bad at dota… they are bad at life. The attitude of blaming EVERYONE else, except yourself… always finding excuses.. never looking inward.. These crusader rank players have a losers attitude and it reflects on their character. Someone who blames everyone else will never be successful in life. These sorts of players are definitely losers in real life too.

I really do not mind bad players at all.. at the end of the day this is a video game. I could play with bad players all day and have a blast. But when you play with loser mentality people… ugh its tiring.

To all you crusaders out there. Look inward and get better.. if youre actually good you can carry a bad team anyway.

Also, if youre trying to break out of the law ranks then pick mid / safe lane only… mute your toxic players and farm hard and win late. And i mean farm HARD.. every second counts, fast, fast, fast.. plan your next move in advance, look at waves, look at jungle.

Thats what i did… you can literally carry 4 bads at this level lmao. Alch and Void. My last placement was mostly Legend rank, which i know isnt great.. but the difference between the crusader placements made it feel like a different game almost.

Now i know the higher ranks have these same toxic players as well… So just remember when you encounter them, they might not be terrible at dota, but their attitude will ensure they dont win at life. Don't be like them.

And its funny to me.. Because I would say im bad at this game… I know Legend is bad. I compare myself to pro players, and im awful… and its not hard for me to admit im bad at a video game.. WHy cant Crusaders just admit they are bad and try to improve? Its so weird.

I guess this felt so important to me, because after playing dota for 15 years… seeing its playerbase sort of drop… I know the new player experience is AWFUL because i just went through it again.

I think Valve needs to create some sort of chat / negativity filter that can pick up on toxic players and mute them and ban them… Otherwise we will never get new players into this game.
