Mistlands is kicking my butt (a rant)

Just have to share with people that know. Been playing for around 300 hours. Have beautiful massive base, farming is going well. Life is good. "Conquered" each biome so far (many deaths)…until Mistlands.

Good lord guys, what is going on here. Get into Mistlands, can't see shit. No worries, got dark metal weapons, draugr fang, padded armour – all full upgraded. Eating some onion soup, fish wraps and lox pie. Feeling swole. I'll go slow, it'll be fine. It was not fine.

Flying sac starts dropping ticks on me like the nastiest pinata. Stuck in rocky terrain, no easy way to escape. Panic. Start jumping like one of those scaly rabbits, manage to GTFO. Sail off, shoot down blood pinata. Wait for resting heartbeat to return, then venture back into Mistlands. Different route this time, not getting trapped in rocks again. 50ft in run into 2 seekers and seeker soldier.

Not friendly.

Kill two seekers but seeker soldiers head butts so far up my ass my character wakes up naked and afraid back at base. Alright then. Good thing I have backup armour – fully upgraded too. I'm not new to this game, I know how it goes. Return to Mistlands, manage to kill bastard ant and get my stuff back. Noice. Hugin appears, tell me about magic wood. Fantastic. I'm focused on survival here, but thanks for the tips on wood. Return to base, switch gear, return to Mistlands. Now I know, dodge and attack from behind just as the savage ant did to me.

Continue onwards, still can't see shit. Discover some dwarves that seem friendly. "Alright" I think to myself, "backup." Onwards into the mist. 3 enemy health bars appear in the mist. 1 star seeker soldier and 2 seekers. Seems like the ants communicate with each other and are intent on killing me. They've upgraded. Run back to dwarves – my heroes. Except they die in >20 seconds. Seekers start flying around me, I'm surrounded. I think I can see my doom, except I can't see shit cause it's the bloody Mistlands. Wake up naked and defeated at main base. My corpse is no doubt being teabagged by the meanest ants I've ever encountered, deep in the Mistlands.

Learning curve for this area is steep. How do you guys survive in there.
