Not here to talk about the raids or ballistas. I specifically want to talk about how in the latest patch on the public test branch, the frequency of gjall and seeker soldier spawns was significantly decreased as well as that the gjall now only fire one shot instead of two.
In my opinion, these two nerfs combined seem to take a lot of the peril and difficulty out of exploring the Mistlands to the point where the biome feels a bit empty and honestly too easy.
The first point is self explanatory: with decreased spawns, it feels like there are basically no major enemies to worry about aside from the occasional pack of seekers near structures (which also were significantly nerfed in terms of their behavior, but I won’t go into that here). In several hours of playing yesterday, I came across maybe two soldiers and three gjall while being in the Mistlands nearly the entire time. None of them had stars either, but I’m not sure if that’s something that’s been changed or not.
The nerf to the gjall to make them only shoot one shot seems even more significant in my opinion though. With how easy it is to see the shot coming and time a dodge roll to avoid it, fighting gjall is basically trivial now. Combining this with the lack of other enemies found in the biome turns a gjall fight from a fun mini boss like trolls or abominations in previous biomes into a chore. I don’t even bother with carrying fire resistance wine anymore because it’s pretty much certain that I’ll take 0 damage on the off chance I even end up finding a gjall.
What do you think about these two nerfs in particular? Do you think maybe just one or the other is acceptable?
