In order to progress I am forced to go into the swamp dungeons. The rest of the game up to this point was super easy but I have heard this was a problematic place to go so I looked up some information and followed this guide:
Unfortunately after spending days preparing to go into the swamp and following the guide to the letter, it still did not help me survive the swamp. I actually had upgraded troll armor rather than just basic troll armor going into the swamp and had everything the guide told me to bring. My plan was to just go in, get the iron, and leave.
I'm not sure if this is normal but there was a draugr spawn directly in front of the nearest dungeon entrance. I was able to kill things coming out of the spawner, but any time it spawns a 1 or 2 star draugr (which is apparently every wave) I have to kite him so I don't get 2 shotted through maxed troll armor and 150hp. So I kite him around, eventually kill him, kill the normal guys and get back to the spawner only to see the next wave of 1 and 2 star draugr. It seems that every wave of spawns there is at least one starred enemy.
Eventually I was killed by a combination of being surrounded by water, running from a 1 star draugr melee, and getting hit by a 1 star draugr bowman. This is with the best possible preparation I could possibly have acquired going into the swamp. I'm not sure what the plan is supposed to be if you go in there missing a component or didn't read the reddit guide. Now my stuff is all trapped in that location and won't bother trying to get it back out of there, because that is impossible. Unless I feel like starting over I am apparently finished playing the game.
Would I play it again? Eh, idk, maybe. Game wouldn't allow me to build stone structures without passing the swamp check so I never really got into building stuff yet.
