Never played a game like this. 500 hours in and it still has tricks.

Walheim - five bosses

Jumped onto my buddy’s world to help him out a bit. Searching for ice caves and stuff.

His seed is a pretty wild one compared to mine the way biomes are set up and what not. He sails us out to this huge mountain he wants to explore, still has not killed modor…

I’m in fenris armor with 80+ jump and run so I’m sprinting all over this mountain like I have wings. He doesn’t even have a modor location yet so that’s also a goal.

Within 15 minutes I stumble upon a modor summoning site (lucky!) and my wish bone is going nuts also. Her summoning spot is floating on silver. He throws a portal down in a tower near by and we start setting up the fight.

An hour or so later modor is dead and we start mining silver. Four nodes all within sight of the altar… bingo!

Three or so hours later I’m putting my last haul of silver into the hold of the longship and he’s coming down with the bit that’s left, 320 silver total.

Just as I drop mine in the hold The Horde is attacking… fuuuuuuuuuuuu
I look at the minimap and sure enough god damn red circle with blips heading my way. I look up and two zerkers and friends are charging down the dock we built to the boat. I pull away only to get hung up on a rock. Now the longship is getting wrecked by an army of goblins with a shaman nuking me from a distance.
I can’t get the boat off the rock and when I finally do I only manage to get it a little further out before it’s blasted out from under me… well, that’s a first.
I’m in the water now swimming for some rocks but I also want to stay in the circle to end the event. I pop a stam pot and swim swim swim. I get up on the rocks, pop bonemass and rage-fuck the swimming gobbos with my bow, the shaman is the last to die.
My buddy makes it down the mountain just as it’s over. We came over in a karve and built the longship when we got there so at least we had a second set of wheels. We park over the wreck and start to salvage the longship, our silver is kindly floating in crates. It’s funny because my buddy and I met irl as deep water construction specialists in our old careers so we enjoyed the symmetry to real life.
He was able to get the nails and hides off the bottom, we built a new longship and we are back in action.

He’s like “well, thanks for popping my Horde cherry”.

I fucking love this game so much. You can never let your guard down and in all the times I’ve sailed around I’ve never been ambushed while loading a ship full of precious materials.

Well played Valheim well played.
