Nilfgaard assimilate is the most unfun uninteractive OP bullshit I've played against in any card game ever. I can deal with Jackpot's OP combo – you can play around it and tech Igni/Yrden into your deck to punish KoB and bring Pellar to prevent poison. Same deal with this new gernichora deck.
Nilfgaard on the other hand you cannot play around. Cards like Yennefers Invocation should NOT exist and provide such ridiculous value that's literally impossible to prevent. It's all just so unfun to play against to the point where I just roll my eyes whenever I come up against yet another nilfgaard netdecker. It's sooo boring and the only counter is to just not play your best cards and combos?
I know the answer is to throw everything at round 1 and try bleed but that's often impossible due to cards like Blightmaker providing the literal best value in the game for their provision cost, while they have endless unpreventable ways to remove or steal your own cards that could provide similar point value.
Oh and let's not forget they have a card that unironically removes all RNG from their card draws, making all of the bullshit listed above consistent?? And that's while forgetting about cards like Braathens and Coup de Grace (whoever thought this card needs Echo should be blacklisted from game design).
So yeah I really despise playing against this faction and the game would be far more fun and balanced if cdpr deleted nilfgaard entirely. The more I climb the more I have to play against this nonsense game design.
Any tips for dealing with this ridiculous faction would be appreciated. Currently rank 3 playing a NR Radovid Roegner Shieldwall deck so still a relative noob and I must be missing some kind of trick to not auto-lose vs NG Assimilate netdeckers. Thanks.
