Odyssey is a broken mess to start in

first of, Returning player here. I have "only" have 400 hours in horizons. but decided against better judgement to start a new commander, to experience what Odyssey has to offer for a new player.

and to tell you the truth, I almost punched my screen.

first 5 low level salvage missions, were bugged. Alright switch to transport then to make my credits to upgrade and/or buy a new ship. So far, so good.

Now on my latest mission I get the standby for scanning notification. Alright, stand still and wait… and wait… The npc gets stuck behind a box, fails to scan me… I get flagged, fined and killed. So now I am "stuck" with my shitty sidewinder (without fuel scoop) in prison 70LY (11 normal or 7 max range jumps) away from the starting system.

I do like Elite, but if there is one thing I learned, then it is that Odyssey is a broken mess that does not deserve my time….

Or am I the one missing something?

To clarify: I do like the freedom Odyssey gives in walking around stations and planets…
I am lucky that I know of the tools and how to use them to fix my situation. But if I were a new player… this would have been a permanent quit moment.
