Recently I have had many discussions on the pros and cons of neutron jumping. Speed vs safety. Range vs relaxation. I thought I'd list a few of my points to see if the community can once again help me make up my mind. Is neutron jumping really worth it? Is it as efficient as it feels.
Granted it's a 400% range increase, but it takes a while to actually charge. How many jumps could a seasoned explorerake in that time. Does it actually save time? Then there's the damage to modules. Easily fixed, but the AFMU takes a valuable slot and power. Not to mention that while you are being swirled by the universe you could land up in the exclusion zone. Especially around white dwarves.
There is no denying that they are a sight to behold. But no explorer ever said "Yay a neutron jump." The one next to Neto (my home system) is especially unforgiving.
So what do you think commanders? Are neutron stars really efficient or just hype? 3 extra jumps or possibe death?
Better yet, does anyone have any experience or tips to share with the rest of us to assist?
See you in the black CMDR o7
