One of my friends refuses to play with us after the world reset and Dev commands being used

So me and 2 other friends were in a 250 day game and built a base for every boss (the closest elder was 3 islands away) and got all the way past moder

After I got hit with a reset me and one friend decided it would be ok to use Dev commands to build a new base on the starting island with everything we had spread across our bases

So I built new structure, spawned in the items, chest killed the bosses we already killed and set everything up the way it was minus our 5 other based

My friend who suggested it was fine since everything was taken from us and we didn't want to start over

However my other friend decided to not join us anymore after I used dev commands to bring what we lost back

Am I in the wrong for just getting us back to the same point we were?

I literally don't use it for general gameplay because that's boring and only used it to fix us…
