Out of fuel for ED

Recently I reinstalled my copy of ED after some troubleshooting on my pc and suddendly I felt like i couldn’t enjoy the game anymore.
I got nearly a thousand hours on and I mostly play as a bountyhunter.

I really crave for a space game with granular control and i know that there’s nothing better as ED currently.
The problem is it starts to feel empty and I have no time to grind due my work schedule.
So I’m asking: what is your routine? What makes you enjoy sitting in the cockpit and take off?

Lately I’m just thinking to take a ship and just wander but I’m kinda tired of empty planets and random events.

I still don’t have a carrier and i don’t enjoy much mining.

Also considering to move my base port as there’s nothing going on on mitra.

Any tip?
