First off, the whole thrill of being a rat, even when scaving, is the thrill of possibly being killed, or possibly getting the jump and taking out someone super thick and juicy. Every possible encounter is absolutely pulse pounding. The odds are not in your favor, so when they pay out, its oh so sweet.
With scav karma, which a large majority of people abide by, you don't ever really have to fear death. Yeah, occasionally you'll have a dick head who shoots you, but for the most part you're completely safe. I don't know if we can see our scav survival rates, but if you can I can probably easily guarantee mine is over 80%. Not many want to tank their rep. So everyone just kind of walks around picking shit up, not really bothering each other.
People love to laugh about "shift W warriors", but I think "W + F loot vacuums" are equally preposterous. There is no skill or thought involved. Its just walk around and pick shit up.
At that point, it might as well be a slot machine on a cool down timer.
I give props to Nikita for trying to make a deeper dynamic than, "shoot everything on sight" but it doesn't really work out. Very few, if any, PMCs are left on the map by the time the scavs start to load in. Its just not worth it for the PMCs to stick around. There really is no pscav vs pmc action.
