There are so many issues with scav karma, I want good karma for better scav runs, better starting gear etc
but scavs and pmcs are barely distinguishable, for example, I got shot at by a pscav with serious loot and lost like .05 karma at least because he missed and I lucky headshot him, but the problem is that neither player won, I lost karma, and the guy lost loot that was rightfully his, all because of an inability to distinguish players.
So my idea for a rework is levels of trust instead of a binary, trusted or enemy of scavs.
Independent of fence rep, scavs have 5 trust levels:
Level 0: Hated by scavs, if spotted, scavs make an active attempt to kill and chase a player scav.
Level 1: scavs will shoot on sight, but other wise leave pscavs alone.
Level 2: scavs will shoot only if aimed at for 5+ seconds or if pscavs get too close
Level 3: non hostile unless attacked
Level 4: level 3 with an increased chance to follow pscavs
Level 5: level 4 with a chance for aiscavs to offer pscavs gifts e.g. fleeces or rare ammos.
How to gain trust:
Every 2 PMCs killed you gain one trust level
Every 3 survived scav raid without killing or injuring scavs gain a trust level
Every time an agro aiscav kills you gain a trust level (only if you have a trust level below 3)
Every time you kill a bad scav gain a trust level
Losing trust:
Every time you kill a good scav lose a level
Every time you survive after hurting a scav lose a trust level
Every boss you kill lose two trust levels.
This system is designed to encourage those who make mistakes to be less punished and those who seek to actively betray be seriously harder to survive.
