A friend of mine insists that you should almost never insure anything. I felt that insuring everything all the time tended to work for me. I did a bit of research and mostly found that everyone has a different opinion on what to insure and when. I was surprised when I didn't really find any one who had tried to track their insurance so I decided to give it a try. I decided the best way to do this this would be to create a spreadsheet to track the amount I spend on insurance and how much money I would get from immediately selling items that are returned from insurance. I did this from January 6th 2022 to March 19th 2022. Here are of a couple of the important numbers:

Couple things I learned from this or that this made me think about:
- It cost the same amount to insure gear no matter the durability.
- I think its the same for guns but a bit harder to tell since attachments are sometimes different per raid
- I think if an AI scav picks up your weapon, its not coming back.
- I believe there were a handful of times where I died to an AI Scav in a low traffic area and lost my gun and nothing else.
- Possibly a Player Scav scooped it up but wouldn't they take more?
- As Prapor levels up, the cost to insure goes up.
- I knew this already but some of my friends did not.
