I'll start with the bad things about the major to end with the good ones.
BAD:
online experience
- HUGE delays on day one and two(they have manage to fulfill the schedule because all series were 2-0).
- Streams in the first dates of the group stages.
offline experience
- Little to non ventilation inside the arena.
- no re-entry in a 9+ hours event.
- not enough variety of food, even when one of the 4d managers mentioned that there would be.
- there were 8 stands and three of them were betting houses.
- lack of water in toilets several times
offline VIP experience
to talk about the vip issues we have to talk about how it was marketed
exclusive major merch:
around 1:22:45 Blue, head of creativity of 4D, says there would be exclusive VIP merch, schedule with ALL teams of the lima major then emphasizes the the VIP merch will be exclusive only to VIP and that none of the VIP merchandise will be sold the the secret shop.
then on wednesday they sold the lanyard given to VIPS, days after that there was a combo called VIP MERCH that was sold for S/.150 and on the last day the bag was sold for S/. 34.90
signing sessions:
this was the main selling point of the VIP's tickets but we not only did not recieved an schedule prior to the event, the first days 4D announced the signing sessions seconds after the queue for the signing session was closed. after the first days there were two options to us VIP's make a queue gambling that there would be a signing session that day (this is why most of us VIP's have called this major "THE QUEUE MAJOR")or follow the social networks of the teams and people related to the teams hoping they do 4D's work. But not only that, not all teams had a signing session when 4D said that EVERY team would have a signing session (video shown in the exclusive major merch part).
giveaways :
they did not exist, there were giveaways but they were for everyone when they have stated that there would be VIP exclusive giveaways
58:19 Gijex from 4D says that there would be special giveaways to VIP's .
Extra problems:
they have said that all entries to the playoff would be divided 25/25/25/25 between all selling phases. VIP tickets were always sold out seconds after their release, this was because the stock was supposed to be small so those who got a VIP get everything they have promised. But days before the playoffs thay added a new batch of VIP tickets and before the tickets they released a weekend VIP combo.
around 3:10 Blue said that the plan is to have 25 % of the tickets in each selling phase.
Another proble was that evryone after the first day could be a VIP because they were so lazy that they used the same VIP bracelet (BLACK with the word VIP) everyday but for general and feria the color and the day changed everyday. what people did was buy or ask a friend for their used VIP bracelet and change it inside the arena. This caused the queues for the signing sessions to fill up with non-VIPs.
the lack of someone like slacks was clear.
GOOD:
- 4D and epulze have shown that they can learn very fast and the last days have little to no delays.
- The dota show was amazing, the finals were a letdown but nothing could be done liquid was not at their 100%.
- The music was amazing and the art was sick!
- general and feria tickets had a good price for what they have offered.
- the crowd carried this even on their own, the stream did not do them justice.
CROWD:
Even these videos won't do them justice since i'm a bad camera man
Overall the major improved over time, the experience was a good one for general and feria wich was probably the 85+% but at the same time it was a really bad experience for VIP's, since you had to choose between enjoy the major or make a queue for 4+ hours for each team in order to get their sign.
