The Scorpion is a breath of fresh air! Now let’s improve the “sphere of combat” to make use of it.

The Scorpion adds a lot to combat zones. Elite is starting to feel like the best parts of a battlefield game: the ability to be on foot, in a vehicle, or up in the air, supporting infantry and vehicles.

Some of the improvements I'd like to see:

  • Taking a ground combat mission should leave a visual marker on your ship HUD about what planet/combat area you should fly to if not taking a drop ship.

  • Scorpions should either be assigned to teams, deployable from a drop ship, or easily accessible from your own ship in combat areas.

  • Enemy AI should be able to spawn in and use SRVs on the battlefield.

  • Combat areas should have varying amounts of damage and be widened a bit further for vehicles.

  • A better third person view for the Scorpion would make it easier to drive in enclosed spaces.

  • Ships, SRVs, and infantry should all have a system to counter each other. EMPs, Anti-Air weapons, counter SRV mines/rockets/satchel charges.

  • Flag Objectives should be on the HUD for SRVs and pilots in ships.

  • Possible fighter integration/landing capabilities?
