I love the fact that in Valheim your situation can turn so quickly. There I was with my sweet Black Forest base. I have my boar farm going nicely, my wolf farm going nicely and my stone farm also churning out. Farm was working well and I had carrot soup for days.
Then I tried to go kill Bonemass.
I thought, let's boat about 10 minutes, land on the island and setup a portal. Seems simple, right? Not quite. For some reason, the Bonemass island was Black Forest with plains on either side. Upon landing on the island, I was immediately set upon by a 1 star Fuling. Died instantly. This was before the portal was setup.
About 20 minutes later, I was ready to go get my old stuff back. I landed on a different spot and set up a basic camp so I didn't have to keep building new boats. Camp is in between 2 trolls. They destroyed my camp and I got killed by a normal Fuling.
I eventually got my stuff back and decided to go and land on a different island that seemed more inhabitable, albeit further away from my base). Landing in The Plains, immediately killed by a Deathsquito.
So here I am now, having to go to a Plains landing beach to get my stuff to return home, to stock up, to travel back to Bonemass island, to try not to die, to try and advance in this game.
Things were going so well and now they couldn't be much worse and I am LOVING it.
Thank you Valheim for making sure I will never take comfort in life for granted.
