Weird Witchspace Experience

o7 Commanders. Just wanted to share a weird experience I recently had jumping from system to system while out wandering the black.

I was on my way back from exploring the black, about 200ly+ from the Coalsack Nebula. I’d just made a jump head back home to the bubble and it was business as usual at first, then a green color started to overtake the usual look of witchspace. Around this time, the FSD made its usual power-down noise and I realized this was going on longer than a jump usually takes. Everything got so dark I could only see the shapes of clouds in the corridor passing by while the star in the middle became a sickly green and increasingly bright. My cockpit was cast in green like someone was shining a green floodlight into the ship. The ship began to shake harder than normal, but never rolled or went off-course like it does in hyperdictions. Lemme tell ya, the ship was making some noise. Then, I dropped out into my destination, no big deal.

When you’re jumping thousands of lys, you get used to kinda tuning out between jumps and something unusual just left me stunned. At the time, I was kinda struck with a dumbfound terror and immediately took the shortest route back home as fast as I could. I didn’t take a clip or a screen. All I can say is I felt like I was witnessing some kind of eldritch terror.

I told a buddy about it, who chalked it up to a botched Tharg hyperdiction with my proximity to the nebula. After the terror faded, I started to think the same thing, but it felt like such a deliberate and crafted experience, I still think about it every time I jump. Anyone else have a weird experience like this?
