When slacks first said this I really thought about it…
First off, I'll establish the "real" hours for actively playing.
Lets say someone like me, 7k hours reported by steam. Without including: idle time, finding a match , spectating, pick phase, browsing BP or store, and Arcade (custom games)
I'd honestly say around 30% makes up this amount for me. Maybe a bit more or less because I cant really recall all the times I was idle.
Active hours would come out to around 4.9k of pure dota gameplay.
This time represents many times I had fun with old friends, getting used to every new patch or learning a new strategy. I'm unsure how I feel about the sheer number of hours but I imagine that I've have other games growing up with similar time. I've been playing for over 10 years on and off and played much more when I was in high school. I'm kind of embarrassed in a way but I guess I just one of those guys that got hooked from beta and reborn.
I'd like to see what others think because I haven't posted here much at all.
