After all the Maelstroms have arrived and we start to see at least minor victories… then we start to see:
- Missions to restore power to abandoned settlements. Land, dismiss your ship, put out fires. Similar to existing game mechanic.
- During this time, thargoids appear and patrol above, as per existing mechanic.
- Shortly after power is restored, human drop ships arrive with on foot reinforcements, under fire from patrols above. Similar to existing human conflict zone game mechanic.
- Shortly after THAT Thargoid drop ships arrive and we have to defend the power building from being overrun by on foot critters and losing power and the settlement again.
This last point, NOT, I repeat, NOT like existing mechanic of on foot conflict zones. I don't want to see us with some capture the flag nonsense. Make it more realistically stragegic defend an in-game asset.
Other mission types could also be offered by Frontline, as per point 3, to drop ship in with others to reinforce newly repowered settlements, etc.
I would also like to see the settlement medical bays serve a real purpose, e.g. they have to be defended in order to have the existing health restore access points get automatically re-supplied. Or it would also be nice to see those places be used by injured troops to get their health restored when those health restore points are used up.
Just a dream from a hopeless romantic.
