I've been going my own pace and just now realized ballistas were a thing. Used up a bunch of my iron crafting springs, made like 10, got all the bolts… And they automatically start killing my wolves. Apparently they will target me too? I immediately dismantle them and will never touch them again.
What is the point of this? I definitely assumed friendly fire would not be an option. This feels so out of place for valheim. I was so excited to get the next thing, planning (yet another) swamp expedition or Mistlands excavation to get a bunch more iron. Another plains area needing black metal. Builders rejoice! There is some late game automation for help with raids on our beloved bases! Useless.
I saw that I can target single enemy types, but with the variety of raids available, that's ridiculous. Not all enemies even have a trophy (batsssss). Mitigate the targeting so that they won't target bosses if that was the reasoning. I don't even know what the reasoning was.
Does anyone even use them, or the traps? Traps I understand though.
