Hi there, former Pro-Pokémon player here (yeah that exists)
Here's a resume of my evolution in this game first :
2019 : Started to play Dota 2 without really understand it (Fix tutorial), I was too lazy before to try to understand it and just watched Dota 2 esport with passion.
2019 : Start ranked in september, calibrated at Herald,
2020 : Crusader then Archon in december
2021 : Currently at 3.4k mmr
I mean, I don't care if people are bad or no, nobody is pro and everyone makes mistakes, like stupid things like diving at lvl 1 during laning phase. It's ok, i always have words like ' It's ok, let's do this and win.' 'better luck next time'. I mean, i really try to improve myself and spread some kindness because it's how my parents raised me and I took GH as a role model.
But hell,
It's ok to lose when the ennemy is better than you, that happens. But I've never seen such toxicity in my bracket, despite the fact that I thought that Crusader was the most toxic bracket. I thought that the more skilled people are, the less toxicity there is because you need to focus more on the game and less on unecessary things to win, was wrong.
How many times in this bracket my carry said 'gg, afk' at min 8 ?
How many times a mate bought a gem just to throw it ?
How many toxic words and flaming in the first 5 minutes ?
How many ward and sentries in the fountain ?
I have 9 games in a row this week, but i'm chocked by the permanent toxicity that there is at this level. In herald, people are not quite good but most of them just enjoy the game, I have many good memories of it, like for example, when a player did something stupid, we just warmly laugh about it and we keep making jokes in a friendly and positive attitude.
I don't know what to say anymore because I'm just so disapointed when I climbed this ladder because I thought I was excited to play with or vs players better than me to learn more and more about this wonderful and high complexity game. Because like I did before for Pokémon, I really enjoy to understand complex games.
I don't want to quit this game, just sad that too many people, even very skilled players, ruined other people experience.
